The Basics Of Paving El Mirage

By Melody Lyons

Paving El Mirage could refer to covering flooring or pathways with solid material. The purpose would be to provide hard and convenient surface to walk or drive. Pavements could be the results of laying material on the surface. It ranges from sidewalks, decorative interior floors in houses and driveways or roads in general.

Pavements were first discovered among the Romans. They can be considered the earliest road builders. Their roads are noted by the durable stone paving. Bricks and stone lab were common in towns for beauty and easy walking on them. The Europeans began using pavement in the 18th and 19th century through the macadam pavement system. The roads consisted of compacted layers of stones.

The main pavement surfaces used today are bituminous or asphalt covering and concrete. The concrete contain gravel and compacted together to make pavements of desired qualities. This includes resistant to harsh weather condition, easy to clean and non slippery surfaces.

The benefits of using asphalt material for pavement are that its economical, long lasting, safe and recyclable. In term of economical, asphalt is less costly and also take extremely short time to completion of construction. Asphalt material is reliable to resist harsh weather and can withstand the heaviest of semi-trailers. It can be designed to fit low and high traffic conditions.

The asphalt material can be recycled to avoid the dilemma of waste disposal. These could be flexible enough in that one can dig up roads constructed with the material and use the same materials to lay somewhere else. This saves the environment from waste disposal at the landfill, and also the material do not spill hence could not be washed into water ways.

The disadvantage of paving El Mirage using asphalt material could be, the material can be very costly. It also requires hiring an expert which could attract more expenses. The asphalt driveways require much more maintenance than the concrete driveways and also when exposed to hot temperature, asphalt driveways becomes soft thus making driveways susceptible to formation of ruts.
